Getting into the retail space

Our Nice Nutrition range is in-store, including our full-size pouches and handy travel sizes of both Puku Ora Digestive Harmony and Cacao Shake protein powder.
Chantal Store is along the main street of Napier, it’s a wholefood shop with values that are pretty close to our own, good ingredients, good kai, basically - right up our alley.
Big mihi to Tess Alexander-Ward and Tim Stevens, they do an awesome job creating space for small businesses and giving local brands a chance to get their products out there. For us, seeing Nice Nutrition in store is pretty cool.
We started off with just our small travel sizes, and they’ve sold out a couple of times now, so the next move was to bring in our full size pouches.
We started our brand because we were tired of wasting money on supplements that tasted horrible, were too overly sweet, or just full of rubbish ingredients.
Exploring more opportunities to get into the retail space is something we are slowly looking into.
There are definitely pros and cons, there’s the cost, margins, stock management and the extra logistics that come with getting products onto shelves.
But then there’s the other side of it: being physically present in your community, reaching people who might never find you online, building relationships and letting people actually see, touch and try your products.
We’re learning as we go and figuring out what works for us - watch this space.
